Makorongo assured me that he was held in a POW camp outside Tokyo, as did his friends but it wasn't until last year that this High Res photo was posted on the internet. This might be a photograph of him here along with the four other African servicemen captured in Burma during WWII.
There were many Americans working at the copper mine. I was interested to see most of them wore hats.
